About Scuba Diving

Divers should never ignore certain safety options in mind while diving. You
should always dive with a partner, not alone ever. It will ensure you
immediate help whenever you face danger. Display a "Diver Below"
flags always to advise boat drivers and jet skis of your presence deep in
the waters. You should dive always in proper health. Get indulged in this
sport only when you are totally fit.
Even before you plan your diving trip, you should always think about all
the safety precautions too. Coral areas and lagoons of Andaman / Nicobar and
Lakshadweep Islands are recognized as protected regions. Never try to damage
plants, disturb the wildlife and leave any garbage behind.
Instructors and experts of Scuba Diving are present at dive sites. They
reserve the right to refrain any participant from undertaking the adventure.
A doctor's certificate would be required if participants have a heart
disease, respiratory or sinus related problems. Specified minimum age for
diving in India is 12 years. It would only be at your instructor's
discretion.
Permits

Majority of islands in Andaman and Lakshadweep are inaccessible. Foreign
tourists require special permits to enter these islands. You are advised to
carry a few extra passport photographs and copies of your passport. These
would be needed to submit to the tourist authorities on arrival, for your
permit to visit the islands.
Scuba Diving Gears

Masks, Fins, Snorkels and Fins are the basic diving gears. Single, two,
three and four window masks are the best option for enhanced visibility
especially under deep water and around corals and comfort. Slip on Fins
allow more water to flow over the blade for increased thrust ideal for warm
water diving. So these are the ideal for warm water diving. You should go
for strap fins for a better performance, as they allow a smoother and more
powerful kick with less effort.
