» Chamundeshwari Temple
Chamundeshwari temple was built in 11th century A.D, in Dravidian style of architecture. Goddess Chamundi, the presiding deity in the temple is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi – consort of lord Shiva. She took this form to destroy the demon king – Mahishasura. The statue of presiding deity in solid gold is placed inside the sanatorium sanctuary.
» Mahabaleswara Temple
Mahabaleswara Temple is located near to Chamundi temple atop the hills. The temple is believed to be the oldest temple of the region, which was built in 13th century A.D. A stucco statue of the demon king - Mahishasura is placed near to the temple.
On the way to Chamundeshwari temple, the visitors will come across a monolithic idol of Nandi – the animal companion of Lord Shiva. The statue measures 4.8 m in height, adorned with pendent bell and delicate anklets. The elaborate ornamentation of the Bull statue is a master craftsmanship of the early period artisans.
