Tea GardenAt the altitude of 1856 meters from sea level is situated a beautiful hill station in South India named as Coonoor. This hill station is situated in Nilgiri hills, near Karnataka border. Coonoor is the second largest hill station in the Nilgiris. This hill station is located 19-km away from Ooty, another famous hill station of South India. Coonoor hill station is known and famous for Grassy meadows, tea bushes, Sunflowers fields, Marigolds and Rhododendrons. Coonoor hill station has attracted thousands of tourists, the holidaymakers, nature lovers and adventure seekers. Coonoor is basically a small tea estate town where the weather remains pleasant all through the year. The Sim's Park of Coonoor offers unique trees and plants to watch. If someone wants to visit Coonoor from very near then he must avail Toy train facility to get a detailed view of this place. It is famous for its verdant environs and for a variety of wildflowers and birds.

Sim's Park - Sim's Park in Coonoor is one of the beautiful and famous tourist attractions. This park was constructed in 1874 and spread in 12 hectares. This park offers marvelous 1000 species of trees. In season the rose garden is quiet awesome to look at. An annual Fruit and Vegetable Show is held in Sim's park every May.

Wellington - Wellington in Coonoor is a very beautiful Golf Course. The Wellington Golf Course is popular place as several film crews shoot their songs sequences here. Just beyond the golf Course lies the hidden valley, a great trek route.

Lamb's Rock - Lamb's Rock is another tourist attraction of Coonoor which is eight kms from Coonoor. This place offers austere view of the Coimbatore plains. It is a splendid landscape having beautiful carvings imposed on it. It is on the way to the dolphin nose.

Dolphin's Nose - Dolphin's Nose is a huge rock which resembles what else but a Dolphin's Nose. This place is approximately 10 Kms away from Coonoor. This place is a popular picnic spot of this region. On a clear day, you can glimpse Catherine Falls from atop the Dolphin nose.

Lamb'S RockDroog Fort - Droog Fort, now the remains is 15 km from Coonoor at the height of 6000 ft above the plains. Today only one wall of the fort has survived. This fort was once used as an outpost by Tipu Sultan. This fort offers awesome views of the nearby places.

The Pasteur Institute - The Pasteur institute is another important attraction at Coonoor. This place is 96 years old and situated very near to the Sim's Park. The Pasteur institute specializes in the research for vaccines for rabies and polio. The institute is open for the visitors only on Saturdays.
