Lakshadweep islands are an archipelago of around 35 lush islands, a visual
treat for nature lovers. Consisting of immense natural beauty and sun kissed
sandy beaches, the islands are also known for their snorkeling and diving

which is believed to be responsible for the formation of these islands

Reach Lakshadweep
» By Air : Lakshadweep does not have a major
airport. Agatti island has an airstrip where small aircrafts land. There are
regular flights available for Lakshadweep from Cochin. Helicopter services
are also available during certain months of the year.
» By Sea : Cruise ships connect Lakshadweep with
Cochin. A number of service providers operate ships between the two
destinations

» Day One : Bangarama

Bangarama is one of the few islands in Lakshadweep open to foreign tourists.
Located a short drive from Agatti, the island fascinates the tourists with
its coconut shaped canopies, various shaped boats and blue waters filled
with varied marine life. There are plenty of options to keep you hooked such
as speed boat rides, scuba diving and other thrilling water sports. And
after you are done with all the fun, head off straight to one of the beach
side snack shacks and relish on a sumptuous palate of sizzling hot sea food.
» Day Two : Agatti
Agatti is the only island in Lakshadweep which has an airport and therefore
an important link between Lakshadweep and the rest of the country. Immerse
yourself in a combination of sun, sand and sea, try out one of the
enthralling water sports or relish on sumptuous sea food, Agatti offers it
all. A major attraction not to be missed while on a tour to Agatti is the
fiberglass and country boat cruise. Other water sports options available
here include kayaking, snorkeling and canoeing.
» Day Three : Kavaratti
The administrative capital of the Lakshadweep islands, Kavaratti can be
ideally summed up as paradise on earth. The place has 52 mosques of which
the Urja mosque is the biggest and the most beautiful. The beautiful ceiling
has been crafted out of a single piece of wood. Other tourist attractions at
Kavaratti include an aquarium which consists of numerous species of fish and
the Lakshadweep Museum that houses several rare artifacts.
Things to Keep in Mind

Tourists travelling to the Lakshadweep islands are required to obtain an
entry permit which can be had after submitting all the required details such
as nationality, passport details, place of birth and permanent address. The
permit can be obtained from both Cochin and Delhi, depending on the place
you are flying in from.
